Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Piano Kids Android app ("the App", "we", "us") handles when children and families use it. We designed the App with privacy in mind and collect as little information as possible.

1. Information we do not collect

The App does not require an account, username, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information to use. We do not ask for a child's name, photo, location, contacts, or microphone recordings.

2. Information collected automatically

To make the song catalogue available, the App connects to our servers to download song metadata and score files. This creates standard server logs such as IP address, device type, requested files, and timestamps. These logs are used only for service operation and security and are not used to identify individual users.

3. Analytics and crash reporting

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to understand app stability and usage. These services may collect:

  • Crash logs and stack traces
  • Device information such as model, operating system version, and app version
  • App interactions such as screens viewed and features used
  • A pseudonymous advertising/device identifier where permitted by the platform

This data is used only to fix bugs, improve performance, and understand how the App is used. We do not sell it or use it for advertising profiles. Data is encrypted in transit. For more details, see Google's Firebase Privacy & Security documentation.

4. Local storage and preferences

The App stores settings, practice progress, and downloaded songs on your device so they work offline. This information stays on the device and is not transmitted to us.

5. Children's privacy

The App is designed to be used by children with family supervision. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child, please contact us so we can delete it.

6. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services:

  • Google Play Services and Firebase for app distribution, analytics, and crash reporting
  • Our own Cloudflare-hosted servers for the song catalogue and score files

These services have their own privacy policies and data-handling practices, which are linked where applicable.

7. Data retention and security

Server logs and analytics data are retained only as long as needed for operations, debugging, and abuse prevention. We use HTTPS/TLS encryption for all network requests and follow reasonable security practices to protect the information we handle.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data. Because the App does not require an account, we typically cannot identify data as belonging to a specific user. You can clear local data at any time through your device's app settings.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App changes. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review the policy periodically.
